In an extraordinary move, departing President Biden has pardoned a number of people on the grounds that he is protecting them from incoming President Trump’s revenge, including former Chief Medical Advisor Anthony Fauci, General Milly, and members of the House Committee investigating the January 6 attack on the capital. AP reports that “The decision Monday by Biden came after now-President Donald Trump had warned of an enemies list filled with those who have crossed him politically or sought to hold him accountable for his attempt to overturn his 2020 election loss and his role in the Capitol siege four years ago.” Separately, Biden also pardoned a number of family members including siblings whom he said were also vulnerable to abuse in order to get to Biden. Even some of Trump’s opponents consider this a worrisome president as it may open the door for future presidents including incoming president Trump to encourage their loyalists into lawless conduct with the promise of pardons.
