Dog Killer to Homeland Security

The president elect intends to nominate former South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem as head of Homeland Security. Noem has been an advocate for southern border security, even sending National Guard troops to the border with the cost reportedly funded by a million dollar donation from a Tennessee billionaire. She is also known for having killed her 14 month old dog in a gravel pit and fighting vaccine mandates as Covid infections in South Dakota sored. She has no significant experience in homeland security but approves of Trump’s intended policies on immigration. As head of Homeland Security, Noem would oversee Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Customs and Border Protection, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Secret Service, the Transportation Security Administration and the Coast Guard. Her appointment is subject to senate confirmation.
